Stacey is well versed in economic development and public-private partnerships for growing the economies of developing areas. In Congress, Stacey works to support legislation that promotes rural development and investments in infrastructure and innovation.

Stacey is committed to ensuring all Virgin Island students are afforded a quality education and continues to support legislation to help close the achievement gap and improve educational outcomes for Virgin Islands students. Stacey introduced the United States Virgin Islands College Access Act of 2017, which will allow college students who are residents of the Virgin Islands to pay In-State Tuition rates at participating four-year institutions of higher education located in one of several States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Stacey is committed to ensuring Virgin Islanders, as well as all Americans, are afforded an equal opportunity to realize the American dream. In Congress, she is a fierce advocate for equal rights and criminal justice reform. Stacey conducts unwavering support for programs designed to lift working families out of poverty, as well as programs aimed at reducing recidivism.

There are few places in the United States with higher per capita rates of military service than the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Congress, Congresswoman Plaskett is committed to ensuring Virgin Islands veterans have full and equal access to the health, housing, education and employment benefits they have rightfully earned.

Stacey believes it is appropriate for the Virgin Islands to move forward to a more mature relationship with the United States and I have expressed her support and desire to support our Legislature and Board of Election to begin our process. The people of the Virgin Islands have a right to determine their political future, whether they choose to maintain the current status or different political status of the territory.
